Welding 101

Welding 101 is a XR training simulation that offers a safe, cost-effective way to learn welding techniques with real-time AI feedback. It integrates metallurgy education and covers all major welding methods. The project aims to enhance hands-on learning and plans to implement teleoperation for remote welding control through virtual reality.

Installation

  1. Download the APK (Android Package Kit) file from the releases page.

  2. Download and install the Meta Quest mobile app on your phone.

  3. Log in with the same account as on your headset.

  4. Tap Menu > Devices and select your headset.

  5. Tap Developer Mode and toggle it ON.

  6. Restart your headset.

  7. Download platform-tools (ADB) from Google:

  8. Extract the ZIP.

  9. Open a terminal or command prompt in the extracted folder.

  10. Connect your headset, and run: adb devices

  11. You should see your device listed. Then install the APK: adb install path/to/your_app.apk

  12. All done!
